The Path Of Life

October 31, 2013/in Character Development, Inspiration, Life Purpose, Personal Growth, Spiritual Truth, Wisdom Richard E. Simmons III Blog /by Richard E. Simmons III

In his latter years, Mark Twain reflected back upon his life and said; “My despair came when I compared what I was, with what I had hoped to be.”

This frustration seems to be a reality in most men’s lives. As the years go by, we begin to wonder; “Why am I not the man I aspired to be when I was younger? Why am I not the man God has called me to be?”

I believe one of the primary reasons  is because we live with good intentions, but pay little attention to the actual paths we have chosen to go down. Good intentions will never get you where you want to go in life.

This is why the Psalmist looks to God for wisdom and guidance. He confidently declares to the Lord: “You will make known to me the path of life.” – Psalm 16:11.

God desires to take us down a path that leads us into the center of His will, and to the plan He has for our lives.

“No one has the deliberate strategy to begin their adult

life only to end up with a wasted life, but this is what so often happens. We all have good intentions for our lives, but at the

end of the day, it is the direction of the path, not good intentions, which will ultimately determine our destination in life.”
